Patsy J. (Lavender) Durbin (April 4, 1944 - April 6, 2015) Patsy J. (Lavender) Durbin, 71, Martinsville, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Indianapolis. She was born on Tuesday, April 4, 1944 to the late William and Marjorie (Melton) Lavender in Lancing, Tennessee. Patsy worked for 20 years at Zeyper Express Mart in Martinsville until she retired as manager in 2009. She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Durbin, whom she married on February 1, 1963; daughters, Shelly Spurgeon and Caroline Durbin; son, Zah’Ayden Durbin; foster son, Timothy Beauchamp; brothers, Kenneth Lavender and William Lavender; sisters, Lorretta Roe, Delois Breckenridge, Sue Arnold, Judy Wooten; grandchildren, Ashley Durbin, Stephanie Spurgeon, Hannah Spurgeon, Makayla Beauchamp and Mathew Beauchamp; two great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Durbin; sister, Karen Payne; sister-in-law and good friend, Kim Durbin. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at New South Park Cemetery with Rev. Michael Stewart officiating. Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Costin Funeral Chapel.
